This course introduces educators to Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR)—a transformative research methodology that empowers youth to investigate and address social issues affecting their communities. Participants will explore the five-step YPAR process, understand the role of educators as facilitators, and learn how YPAR differs from traditional research methods. Educators will gain strategies to engage students in meaningful research, analyze data, and take action to influence policies. This course is designed for teachers, administrators, and staff interested in enhancing student agency, critical thinking, and civic engagement.
