Course Description: Unleashing the Power of Educational Technology

Welcome to the NITA (Nermine Ismail Training Academy) course designed to empower educators with innovative learning applications! Led by Mai Abdallah, this course welcomes all members of the NIS Family to explore how technology can transform classrooms and engage all students, particularly those who need extra support.

In this interactive course, participants will delve into a variety of dynamic EdTech tools that promote collaboration, creativity, and student engagement. The course will cover:

MindMeister: A mind-mapping tool that allows students to visually organize ideas and concepts while enhancing their note-taking and creativity through collaborative brainstorming.
Padlet: An interactive collaboration platform enabling teachers to create boards for sharing text, images, videos, and links, allowing students to express their thoughts in engaging layouts.
Gibbly: A platform for creating engaging classroom games, where teachers can organize students into teams and share game links, fostering competition and collaboration.
Bamboozle: An interactive game that encourages student participation through quizzes and challenges, promoting teamwork and enjoyable learning experiences.
Blooket: An educational platform transforming learning into a fun game where teachers can create quizzes and challenges for students to compete and earn points.
PhET: An online lab simulation tool for math and science teachers, offering a wide range of free, user-friendly simulations for various scientific concepts.
Lumio: An innovative digital learning platform designed to create interactive and engaging lessons, integrating technology effectively into the classroom.
Nearpod: An interactive tool that enhances teaching through engaging lessons and assessments, featuring a library of activities, VR options, and collaborative boards.
Edpuzzle: A tool for creating interactive video lessons by adding questions, audio notes, and comments to existing videos.
Gimkit: A game-based learning platform that engages students through quizzes and educational games, fostering a positive learning environment with accountability features.

Throughout the course, educators learn how to integrate ed tech into their teaching practices effectively. By the conclusion of this course, participants will be equipped with innovative strategies to create engaging and accessible learning experiences for all students.

Mai Abdallah

Ms. Mai Abdallah is the Academic Dean at the Shorouk Campus. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts, English Department, in 2003. With a strong passion for education, she has earned multiple diplomas and certifications, including an Educational Leadership diploma and training in technology and gamification for educational leaders from the American University in Cairo. She is also a certified IB literature teacher and holds qualifications in dyslexia, training of trainers (TOT), and English language teaching.

Her career in education began as an English instructor at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Defense Language Institute (MODLI). She joined NIS in 2005, where she served in various roles, including teacher, Head of the English Department, and Vice Principal. Over the years, she has worked in both the Tagamoe and Shorouk campuses, demonstrating her leadership as Principal of the elementary division in the New Capital Campus and later returning to Shorouk Campus as Academic Dean.

Ms. Abdallah is a strong advocate for positive thinking and believes in the transformative impact of professional development on teaching quality.
